How AniRanks Works
The place where anime fans settle their debates.
Four types of Rankings
Every ranking falls into one of four categories which determines the picks that are available for the users to create their Top 10s.
Choose between all anime titles, from classics to the newest releases.
Heroes, villains and all of our most beloved (or hated) characters.
From best sellers to hidden gems, pick between titles and specific editions.
All anime movies, from big franchise blockbusters to independent productions.
Create your own Top 10
When a fan builds their list, they also take part in building the community's opinion about that subject. The general Top 10 you see is the result of all lists submitted by users for that ranking.
Pick any active ranking that sparks your interest.
Search for the names you'd like to pick and include them in your list.
Drag your picks into place from #1 to #10.
Your list is submitted instantly and counted toward the general ranking.
A list of three or five picks is just as valid as a full ten. While a ranking is active you can come back and edit your list as often as you like. Only your latest saved version counts.
Positions matter
Your #1 pick earns 10 points, your #2 earns 9, all the way down to 1 point at #10. This means that the order in which you rank your picks influences their position in the general Top 10.
We add up the points from every user's list and build the Top 10 from the highest totals. This creates a realistic representation of how the community feels about a subject.
Level on points? We break it by who earned more #1 placements, then by who appeared on more lists overall.
The community decides what to vote on
Every user can suggest new rankings they'd like to see and vote on other users' suggestions to help them get published.
Give it a title, a description and a category. Each user gets two suggestions per week.
Each user gets 5 upvotes per week to help their favorite suggestions from other users get published.
Every Friday the five most upvoted ideas head to review by moderators.
Approved ideas go live automatically. If not, you'll get a notification explaining why.
Participation matters
Every contribution earns points that stack on your profile. Points earn the respect of the community and are exchangeable for rewards.
Your suggestion gets approved by the admins and goes live.
Your suggestion finishes in the three most upvoted that week.
You submit your list in a ranking. Awarded once per ranking, no matter how often you edit.
Your suggestion lands fourth or fifth in the weekly vote.
You upvoted a suggestion that made the weekly top five.
Always in the loop
You'll never wonder what happened to a suggestion. The notification bell keeps you posted whenever:
Join the conversation
Every ranking has its own comment section where you can defend your picks, challenge someone else's, and talk anime with the community. We keep it friendly and on-topic.
